What Eyeliner Tattoos Do For You.
Eyeliner procedures can help women and men enhance the appearance of their eyes. Eyeliner tattooing eliminates the need to outline eyelids with liquid liners or pencils. It improves the appearance of missing, thin, or light-coloured lashes. It is also waterproof and provides safety and convenience to people with vision problems or unsteady hands. Ophthalmologists and Optometrists recommend eyeliner to patients who wear contact lenses, have watery eyes, or are allergic to regular makeup. These treatments are incredibly effective at drawing attention to the eyes and can be as subtle or dramatic as desired.
Stardust eyeliner tattoos create a very soft and powdery effect and allow us to customize styles and shading techniques for specific looks like Ombre. This is a very advanced technique and uses a digital machine for the application. Designs are specific to each person. Your technician will work with you to design the style that will work best for your face, eye and brow shape.
The eyeliner tattoo is applied just above or below the lash line and can be as fine or voluminous as the client requires. There are various colour combinations and effects that can be chosen to achieve the desired result. This treatment offers endless possibilities to the client.

Eyeliner “frames” an eye and can make eyelashes appear darker, fuller, or thicker. It can enhance the shape or balance (symmetry) of a person’s eyes, create the illusion of larger eyes, or affect how the spacing of the eyes is perceived. Eyeliner can also enhance or intensify eye colour and make eyes appear more alluring.

Cosmetic Transformations and its staff have extensive training in advanced eyeliner techniques and are skilled at protecting eyes and ensuring your safety during the procedure. Many eye doctors refer their patients to Cosmetic Transformations because they have successfully performed eyeliner procedures on people before and after their eye surgeries.

You should allow 2 hours for your initial procedure. If you wear contact lenses, you must bring your eyeglasses since contacts cannot be worn the first 48 hours after a procedure. If you have had any eye surgery or treatment, the healing must be complete before your appointment. Please do not wear any makeup or mascara but do bring your favourite eyeliner pencil or liquid for evaluation and colour matching. You may also wish to bring a photo of yourself wearing makeup so that we can see how you usually wear your eyeliner. Also, you must refrain from consuming alcohol, aspirin or Ibuprofen within two days of your procedure, and from using Retin A and AHA skincare products within two weeks of your procedure, as they can affect pigment retention.

You will fill out forms including a medical history for safety reasons. We will evaluate your face and eyelid shape and your eyeliner colour and design. We will then discuss techniques and colours with you. Before and after photos will also be taken for your confidential file with your colours recorded for future reference.

Your eyelids will be slightly red and swollen immediately after your procedure but this will resolve within a day. During the next week, your eyelids will be a little shiny. A thin scab will form and your eyeliner will look thicker and darker than you want until the scab flakes off (which usually starts to happen between the 4th and 6th day after the procedure). Clients tend to feel most self-conscious during the flaking process so you should keep this in mind when scheduling your work and social commitments. During this first week of healing, you cannot wear mascara or eye shadow and you must not pick at the scabs (as picking will pull the pigment out of your skin).

Your eyeliner will gradually shrink and the colour will lighten and stabilize over several weeks after your procedure. If it heals lighter or thinner than you desire, it can be darkened or thickened with a second application at a follow-up visit. A follow-up might be needed to adjust shape or colour in areas that healed lighter from tissue swelling during the tattooing process. If required, your second visit should be completed between 4 to 8 weeks post procedure. Because all pigments can fade in the sun, you should protect the pigments that are in your skin with sunscreen. You should also know that the pigments will fade over the next five years, but when this happens you can schedule maintenance visits to keep your colour looking fresh. Maintenance visits are shorter and less expensive than the initial procedure.
Any type of initial eyeliner treatment will be followed by a one-hour touch-up appointment between 1-3 months later. Semi-permanent make up as the name implies requires periodical maintenance to ensure the freshness of the look, but you can expect the enhancement to last anything from 8 months to 2 years before a re-touch treatment is required (This all depends on the long term care of your tattoo or your skin type).
